Brawl Stars: Revenge Of The Three

For the Japanese launch of Supercell’s mobile game, Brawl Stars, we made a 16-minute Yakuza cinema love letter, with zombies, rhinocerous beatles, gangsters on roller blades, chihuahuas, a surprise return of Zebraman, an 80s J-pop dance, a whole lot of gaming easter eggs and a whole lot of V-Cinema easter eggs. Our homage starred the genre’s most famous face, Sho Aikawa and had the most famous director behind the camera,  Takashi Miike.

You can start with the trailer if you like:

Confused? Maybe you should watch the full 16 minutes then.

Did you make it to the Bollywood ending? No? Nevermind. Here’s some more snackable content for you instead. Each cast member had their own Brawl Stars gaming advice video, so if you ever wondered how long it takes for a new gem to pop up, check ‘em out below, and don’t forget to turn on English subs. That zombies one is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done.

There was a tv show on the making of the ad and we also cast a few YouTubers, and invited some more on set so they could make their own content.
