Audi e-tron GT: The Art of Progress

In a country where feelings are usually kept unsaid, we visualized the emotions felt behind the wheel of the Audi e-tron GT. We captured fashion designer Yuima Nakazato’s emotional data as he drove the e-tron GT around a track, and converted that data into a 3D printed sculpture.

An advanced headset to record brain wave data and Nakazato-san’s heart rate, along with perspiration sensors and facial expression analysis, gave a full picture of what he was feeling as he drove around the racetrack.

All of the data was converted into a 200kg, 2 meter wide, ring shaped, 3D-printed sculpture, recreating one of Nakazato-san’s 2.30 minute laps around the racetrack. Heart rate data determined how far away from the center the ring shape was; perspiration determined the thickness; brain wave data determined the intensity of the ridges; facial expression analysis determined the intensity of the undulations. That’s right, science. All this lovely science was done by Rhizomatiks.
